Transform and Roll Out! - TFCon DC 2019

Post by Greg2600 » November 10th, 2019, 11:30 pm

So a couple weekends back, in between Chiller days, I got up with the chickens (as they say) on Saturday, and started the long, long drive to Reston, VA. I actually made pretty good time, arriving just in time for the 1PM G1 Transformers panel with Dan Gilvezan and Paul Eiding. As usual, I really enjoyed it, and they told some great stories. I moved to the main vendor room, and started out with composer of Transformers The Movie and Rocky IV, Vince DiCola. I had laserdiscguy’s movie soundtrack album, which he signed, and I got the photo. About 15 minutes Dan returned to his table, and I was first in line. I got his autograph on my DVD set, a signed book, and the photo. Dan voiced the original Bumble-bee, a legendary character who thanks to Michael Bay, no longer speaks. Paul Eiding, aka Perceptor, was next, and he and I talked about some other voice actors who I can’t find anymore. Got the combo as well on my DVD set. After Paul, I didn’t really care enough for the other guests to pay them. I walked the con floor and took pics of all the super intricate and expensive Transformer figures they make now. I was out by 2:30, got something to eat, and started the drive home. I skipped a few tolls, but most I paid just to reduce the drive time.

Nice stuff. I was never into Transformers as a kid but certainly admired all those cool toys haha.
