Photobombers: should they be punched?

Post by class316 » September 15th, 2018, 3:00 pm

IMO, deliberately ruining someone's hard earned photo op is one of the scummiest things one can do. It is so simple to do nothing, yet they go the extra mile to be a complete asshole. For instance:

Image

I cursed this guy out to a point where venue security intervened to stop any violence.

Some as said "well that's an easy fix" but honestly that's besides the point. Here is what I did to amend it:

I would like to go on record to say that not once did I deliberately ruin any person's celebrity photo op.

Conversely that guy should have knocked you on your ass.

If you hadn’t brought attention to it I wouldn’t have even noticed.

You do realize that now that you've made it public how much this really, really, really gets under your skin, that more people who see you at spots, and don't like you, are going to be doing this even more now, right?

And I'd relax about any supposed "punching" - you're not exactly a big guy, and I doubt you have any fighting experience or skills, so if you punch anybody, all that's going to get you is 1) Being on the recieving end of an asskicking by the guy you punched, and 2) A nice big legal bill, since many/most of the spots you would be at will have a security presence who will detain you and call the cops once punches start getting thrown.

And BTW, admitting that you digitally altered about 1/4 of the entire photo makes the whole second version of the picture :invalid:

Haeh? He struck the first blow, not me.

If this were the "baby" analogy, he is essentially punching the pregnant woman's belly to deliberately cause birth defects.

This one is so obvious I noticed it on my camera screen.

You mock. But consider this. I go through hell and high waters for photo ops. I dedicate lots of time, money, and effort. That's not even considering indirect money where instead of combo hunting you could be making money elsewhere. And it's so tough to get the celeb to pose with you (in this case not everyone got Kylie to stop). It's not a major dick move to do what this guy did?

Flipping out on strangers in the middle of New York, or anywhere, could end badly for you. Though many would celebrate that.

I fail to see how this guy is "photo bombing " you. He's smiling and watching the celeb take photos with fans. He's enjoying the encounter. Just because he's looking towards your camera doesn't make him a photo bomber. Where's the malice ?

Go away with your rational logic! Even worse, Class honestly couldn't care less about Kylie. It's just digital hoarding. 8 people will see this photo, and none will care about the guy cheesing.

Even if what you say is true how is that relevant here? I'm making a larger point than Kylie. For all this guy knew I was her #1 fan. This happens a lot and Kylie is but one instance.

C'mon man look at the expression on his face. He is deliberately ruining my op. He didn't even deny it when I cursed him out and showed him the pic.

Also, another example for a photobomber in the form of an old lady. So twice in a row she "happened" to be looking into my camera?

I was tempted to curse her out but at this spot it's always the same security and they can prevent you from getting combos. So I try my best to keep a low profile there.

For reference, my valid but horrid Kylie shot from 2013

Image

I had to be aggressive as she was being rushed but she actually posed me. In all the chaos I cut 1/3 of my head and there's the fugly Asian photobomb (obviously unintentional here)

As a bonus you even have a trailing :random: in the background.

Even though irrelevant to the bigger picture of this thread, let's address the allegations made by :greg:

Kylie is actually not a :gottacatchthemall: name for me.

The song "Especially For You" resonates from my youth. And the song "Can't Get You Out of My Head" was a staple of the early 2000s that I still remember.

And of course you have her role as Cammy from the horrid Street Fighter movie starring Jean Claude Van Damme. I first watched that on pirated VHS. And I played the Arcade version of the movie which contained digitized characters from the movie. The Street Fighter movie magazine I had for her to sign I've literally owned for about a quarter of a century.

Is she my biggest want in the world? No. But she's definitely someone I wanted to get.

Assaulting someone is never right but I will agree it is a dick move to deliberately photobomb someone. Especially you who has this obsession with it and will flip out over it.
