Stan Lee was probably the first non-sports celebrity I recall meeting and talking to. He would show up to the old Heroes World private vendor show that my father would get us into out in Parsippany, NJ. We'd get some stuff signed and sell in our store. Don't recall much but he was a funny guy.

Fast forward at least 15 years, and I attended NYCC in 2012, and brought a Stan Lee Meets book to have him sign. He was signing upstairs for Desert Wind Comics as usual. His price was a bit high $75 I think, but some guy in the line was annoyed at how long it was taking that he sold me his for $45! I took a shot just after he signed my book, as Stan wasn't looking up at all.

The following year, I dragged my poor podcasting friend Rob with me to NYCC. He nearly went insane during that atrocious day, but we did meet Stan. We often imitated him on our podcast, including a review of his awful Sci-Fi Channel show Who Wants to be a Superhero? about 5 minutes in....

I took this one outside NYCC in 2016, as Stan stood for a second before leaving.

RIP

His best quality, IMO, was when he spoke out against changing the race of comic book characters in the name of being pc.
