Great location. Very easy for me to get to. When do tickets for wrestlecon generally go sale? Late in the year?

Can't find an actual size, but based on the photo's I've seen of the meeting area's it looks big enough to fit an event this size.

Will be like the recent MAB show. Diff people. Diff rooms. Traffic NIGHMARE on 6th. Rougg. Be prepared to wait on 7th ave to get in

That's the hotel where they hold my Model UN conference. I've stayed there about a dozen times. There are 2 decent sized ballrooms on the second and third floor, and lots of conference rooms on basement-3rd floor. Should have plenty of room space, but it will be a nightmare to navigate. Stairs/elevators/escalators are not designed AT ALL for large crowds.

It's going to be a nightmare. Traffic, ridiculous prices to park, and to find hotels under $250 a night. Not to mention all the people who are traveling with oversized vehicles, RV's, or vendors with trailers will have nowhere to park. The lot's don't fit that kind of vehicles. It's a terrible idea to have it there. So many other options in NJ.

Seeing as I always park for free and I sleep in the car, I'm up for $0/day rate across the board :coolIra:

I was looking forward to going to this but there is no way I’m going to Manhattan for a convention. Never thought this would happen.

Definitely gonna be a headache for any/all the visitors for Mania weekend. Traffic is gonna be crazy. Hotels are gonna be expensive unless they have the Mania Travel Package(but I wonder if the Mania Hotels will be in Brooklyn since everything except Mania is at Barclays). For me personally its great because its a short 10 min subway ride from Queens. As far was wants though after getting Austin at this past Wrestlecon there really isnt a BIG name I need/want outside Vince/Shane/Rock so this might be an easy weekend for me.

If they're smart, they'll book hotels a little farther west on I-80, or either north or south on 287, and just take trains or buses into the city when they need to. You're still less than an hour highway drive from the city, and the hotels will be MUCH cheaper. Take public trans to Port Authority, and it's a walk or short subway ride to WrestleCon or anywhere else in the city they need to be.

Having been to a lot of Mania host cities, NYC will probably be among the most easy for out-of-towners to get around in. You have affordable train, bus, or subway access from just about anywhere in the tri-state area, so you have a lot of options on where to stay. By comparison, last year in NOLA, there was little to no public transportation outside of the immediate city, so you either had to pay big bucks for local city hotels, or drive in from the suburbs and pay ridiculous parking rates once you got in the city.

If the NYC visitors do their homework and seek out good advice, they should be able to get around pretty well.
