Today I made the trip to Steiner Sports, a rather routine stop at this rate, as I am constantly there of late. Today was Giants wide receiver and salsa dancing sensation Victor Cruz. I got to the mall about 4pm, two and a half hours early since this signing was sold out days in advance and Cruz is a HUGE name, so I figured better front of the line than back in photo op odds. The signature was $110 for equipment, which I paid to add him to my superbowl football. When I arrived there were about 30 in front of me, but I was still happy with my spot. I would say another 130 or so got on line behind me, but the crowd felt a tad bit lighter than it did the other night for Bradshaw/Rolle. I am guessing they capped the tickets to around 200, which they tend to do for some of their bigger names. The signing started on time, but with the VIPs and the 3 different lines you have to get through, I didn't get into the room until 7:30. They are now running the signings in a back conference room, deep in the the bowels of the mall. This means you wait on the main line, then 15 at a time get moved up to the main feeder line, which feeds you into the main room, which you then wait in the order of your line position to get up to the table. Victor was great, happily posing for photos and signing wherever and however people wanted. All in all it was another great time @ Steiner. Tomorrow I do it all over again for JPP!
